I guess you have wondered what happened to me. I have been stitching the PIFs that were promised. I love the stitching I have done, but can't show it right now. There are two more to stitch and to decide on finishes for four of them.
I started attending the local Church of the Nazarene three months ago. I wasn't raised in church, but have always believed in Jesus Christ. I have been studying the Bible more and learning more about myself and the direction God wants me to take my life. I know my purpose for now is to take care of my mom. I wouldn't have it any other way.
I have a new friend in my life that I met at church, her name is Christi and she is a stitcher. We are around the same age, she is married with grown children. They are a very sweet family. She had recently decided to get back into stitching when we met. The problem is that when we get together we talk more than we stitch. LOL
In December we had some family visitors. My cousin brought her husband, daughter and three week old grandson. There is nothing like a baby to put things in perspective. My niece came the end of the month and brought her son, he is now 5 1/2 months. He looks just like her when she was a baby. I love his laugh and toothless grin.
On Christmas eve, I received a summons for jury duty from the county I live in. I have to report to the court January 9, 2009. When our names are drawn, we serve for two months. It is possible that I will not be a juror or I could be on a couple of juries. In the booklet the court sends, it states to bring a book or needlework to occupy your time when you are not needed. I am so glad I can bring my stitching. It is like bringing a security blanket. LOL
I slept through midnight and woke on New Year's Day with a cold and sore throat, as of now, I just have a cold. I am glad the sore throat is gone. I had just said to someone recently that I hadn't been sick in years. LOL No matter what, Mom and I watched the Pasadena Rose Parade. It was lovely.
I am not completely caught up in blogging. I have received two awards that I need to say thanks for and pass on. I hope the two ladies that awarded them won't be upset with me! I also have pictures of needlework and a sweet baby I need to share.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Take care
Teresa

It sounds like you have had some fun times. It's good you found a church you are happy with. I recently joined a new church also.
We will all be waiting to see your stitching projects and great you have a new friend to stitch with.
Nancy
Sounds as if you are busy stitching up a storm. I am glad that you found a church that makes you feel welcome. Also I am happy that you have found a new friend.
God bless.
You sound like you have had a wonderful holiday to spite being sick on New Year's. I am glad to hear you have found a wonderful stitching friend to share things with. That is just such a blessing. I have my quilt and stitching friends. One is dear Carolien who I actually met in real life through my blog. And yes, part of the friendship is being distracted with lots of chatter. It just cannot be helped. :) I miss my church back home and am glad you found a place to go.
What a shame about jury duty. I was called once many moons ago and it was when you only were called for that day's cases. I hope you will get in alot of stitching time instead while waiting.
Hugs ~
Heidi
Hi Teresa, it sounds like you are really stitching away and the new year is off to a good start...except for the cold and sore throat...I hope you are feeling 100% now.
I'm happy you have found a welcoming church and have a stitching buddie too. Like you, when we get together to stitch we spend alot of chattering...that's why we have so much homework. It's just fun getting together.
I've always enjoyed jury duty but yikes two months is a long time, at least you're able to stitch.
Hello to your mom and hugs to both of you, Linda
It's wonderful that you are finding direction and purpose in your life! Best wishes with your new path! Happy 2009!
Happy New Year to you and I hope you are feeling much better now. Everyone here seems to have colds or aches and pains at the moment, role on the summer and some sunshine to do us all good.
Its lovely you have found a local stitching friend. I found one a few months back and like you we do not get a lot of stitching done but its lovely to talk threads and designs and know your listener is really interested.
I have started attending a new church too!! Its all change! Hope things go well for you
I am glad you had a good time, Teresa! How is the throat doing? I hope you feel better by now.
Good luck with the jury part (we don't have that in Holland) and I hope you will have many happy stitching hours with your new friend!
Greetings for you & mom & hugs, Carolien
Hi Terea..love the new look of your blog... the background and the art work of Kevin Crozier is so refreshing. I love the coast and his art work just takes me there. I collect watermelon pieces and I just love that umbrella..hugs, Linda
