1. No matter how many times I have seen Rudolph, the Red- Nosed Reindeer, and I have it on tape, I have to watch it every year. My mom watches it too. We love the part when Clarice tells Rudolf he is cute. When he says "I'm cute", we repeat it. LOL!! And...How the Grinch Stole Christmas
2. For a couple of years CVS Pharmacies had stuffed toys that were the Rudolph characters. I own them all. My sister gave me some for Christmas and I bought some for myself.
3. I love It's a Wonderful Life. I always cry. It makes me realize that even on my worst days I am valued.
4. I live in a very small town. The downtown business area is two blocks. On the first Thursday in December we have a Christmas parade complete with prizes for the best band, best float, etc.
5. In 1977 and 1988 my sister gave birth to her daughters in December and that was the best present we could have received.
6. My niece, born in 1977, called recently to tell us (mom and me) that she is pregnant and due in July. That is my Christmas present.
7. My first "new" bike was given to me by my dad one Christmas. It was blue and had a light on the front, but the light didn't work. My dad called the man he bought it from and he opened his store on Christmas day to give my dad replacement parts. How nice of him!!!
8. My mom loves dolls. So, I got dolls from her. She gave me Mattel's Baby First Step, Dancerina and Tippy Toes, different years of course. I still have all of them in their original clothes. I played with them, but took good care of them too.
9. I love all lights, any color, blinking or not.
10. I love the smell of Christmas candles, wax tarts and holiday potpourri. Pine, balsam, cedar, orange peel, cinnamon, I could go on and on.
11. I really enjoy Benson's Fruit Cake and only this brand. It is moist and comes pre-sliced. The Lions Club in my area sells them at Christmas. Some of the area businesses let the members bring cakes in to sell.
12. There has never been a Christmas carol that has touched me more than O HOLY NIGHT. It is my favorite. I also enjoy Burl Ives singing Silver and Gold and Holly Jolly Christmas. I had a high school teacher, a lovely woman that taught algebra. She was taking a trip and traveling by plane. When she arrived for her flight, she was seated next to Burl Ives. She said he was very much a gentleman and a great conversationalist!
Now, I get to tag two people. I am going to tag Lynda at Hedgerow Hollow and Chris at Chris's Stitching and Strumming.
This was fun and I could have added more. Now, I am off to stitch!!
Happy Holidays
Teresa

Teresa, thanks for playing along! It was fun to see how much we have in common..Rudolph, Christmas carols, candles, but fruit cake? Hmmm, sorry but I'm a chocolate girl! Happy stitching..I'm jealous ~ I have to re-paint my fingernails red, just like my hoopla said!
Michelle :)

Hi, Teresa...I loved reading your answers to the hoopla.
I like some fruitcakes, too...not too many do, I think. When I was a little girl, my dad's company always gave them fruit cakes. I don't remember what kind but they were the best ever!
hugs, bj
Hi Teresa,
It is so interesting for me to read your answers. We have some similar. I also like Rudolf and my little son (6.5 years) like to see the Rudolf movie. I like It's a Wonderful Life so much.
But my town is so huge. It is a really huge city. I'll try to show you the Christmas and New Year decoration of Moscow next week.
For Russians New Year is the most popular day than Christmas. Histirically we have Christmas on 7 of january. So we call it Russian Christmas day. Ana we have also so specific day like so called "OLD NEW YEAR DAY" 13 of january. This is so fun. Very fun. if it is interesting I will explain later.
Merry Christmas for you and your mom!
Teresa, thank you so much for your very nice comments. I love all of the things on your Christmas hoopla list. I too love Rudolph and It's a Wonderful Life! I could watch them over and over again.
